After working with Lila in her mat classes and individually, I have had a remarkable transformation in my ability to protect my back and use my body dynamically without injury.
Lila's ability to determine and constantly re-examine the course of training has been very reassuring. She has a positive and lighthearted spirit that makes training fun and engaging. While helping me to integrate mind and body, Lila excels at keeping training safe for my ability and encouraging me to move forward with consciousness when ready.
I have benefited greatly from working with Lila, who is a very talented and caring expert in Pilates. I first attended a series of classes that she led, where her individual attention to participants convinced me to arrange to see her in personal training sessions. My original plan was to go to just a few private sessions, but she was so helpful that I've continued on for more than 2 years. During this time she has helped me to gain strength and flexibility, plus recover from a major hip surgery and from multiple, more minor problems including plantar fasciitis. Lila skillfully customizes her approach to one's individual condition -- her sessions are challenging, but the progress being made feels satisfying, plus I don't feel overwhelmed, discouraged, or self-conscious about my limitations. In addition to appreciating Lila's technical skills, I appreciate her warm and friendly personality.

Lila is an amazing Pilates teacher. I have been working with her for more than 3 years now and she is constantly changing the workout and always adding new exercises. I have never had the same workout twice and I work out with her two times a week. She has made me so much stronger in ways I could not achieve with weights alone. I really believe my new -found strength has protected my body and reduced the extent of my injuries when I have had some recent slips and falls. Hard falls that might have torn muscles but the strength and support of the Pilates muscles helped me avoid that. As I grow older I realize how important Pilates will be to help keep me active. I will never give up Pilates for this reason.
I also admire Lila's attention to my body position in each exercise. She often sees when and where muscles are not working fully and she gently places a hand on that muscle group and I am suddenly able to perform the exercise properly and to the full extent. Consequently, each session is fully valuable and moves me in a direction to greater flexibility and overall health.
I feel great and balanced after my Pilates sessions – a little goes a long way.

-Brenda"Sometimes it isn’t easy for a senior to be in an exercise class with 30-somethings who have perfect bodies that can move every which way and not feel intimidated. Not so in Lila’s classes! Lila chooses exercises that will work for all age groups, watches what you can and can’t do, and gives you great encouragement to do things you didn’t think you could do. When I started with her, I quickly and proudly announced that I don’t do planks. She has given me abundant encouragement and now that I am doing them, she immediately reminds me of my previous announcement and we both laugh. -Shelley Cooper
